Nouvelle Annee

Bringing in the New Year was EPIC times due to:
1) the lovely company
2) being back in my city
3) lo*kee a bloody fantastic collective/record label that throw stupid fantastic parties. I am baffled and depressed to know it has taken me this long to find out about them.

The collective only seem to have one set up which is a shame, it's much more chill than what they played but still lovely enough.

A few years ago, French photographer Sacha Goldberger found his 91-year-old Hungarian grandmother Frederika feeling lonely and depressed. To cheer her up, he suggested that they shoot a series of outrageous photographs in unusual costumes, poses, and locations. Grandma reluctantly agreed, but once they got rolling, she couldn't stop smiling.

Lovely person introduced me to a lovely band from Brooklyn, been leaping up and down to their tunes for several weeks now yay! Brilliant stripped down sound, they're like the counterparts to my band of 2009 - The XX (both very minimal but one's leapy day music one's more cued for moody night time listening). Hopefully I'll get to see 'em live once I'm in the Americas ... Excited? Me? Hellsyeah.
